Hi Amy,
Thanks for inviting me to join your group. I see that you lived right down the street practically for many years. I now live in Burr Ridge with my wife Linda (Scott Magnesen's sister) and 4 children, 18, 15, 13 and 8. Before that, I lived in Downers Grove since 1983 while attending Kellogg (night school).
Hi Amy, we are in the party planning process. The official start/finish time (at this point) is between 6:30 pm and 10:00 pm. I asked if there were any issues with people staying until, for instance, 11:00 pm - and was told that was okay. We won't have alcohol available after 10 pm, but perhaps the caterer will clean up the coffee & tea bar, and water bar, later than the food? Do you think we will need to reserve a bar for later than that?
BTW, the food we are planning sounds very good - and we're told the caterer we're using is one of the better ones. We have about three passed hors d'oeuvres early on, then about 6 major groupings on a buffet bar, then a dessert bar, coffee & tea, water bar, and open bar throughout.
If you have any suggestions, we will address them.
As to your message, summer has been great - but fast (as usual.) I got back from Peru last week, having visited Kate and mom on the Semester at Sea ship. Someday I'll get those photos together and send a link. Sara
It was so great seeing you and Kathryn today!!!!!!! Don't post any BAD photos... which of course, we couldn't possibly have taken to begin with... right??
It is amazing how time flies- for some reason I thought you were in the northern suburbs. We survived Naperville schools (203) (did your daughter spend any time at NCHS)? Anyway, the porch is in Talkeetna, Alaska - although, a similar one in Utah sounds wonderful. I am impressed that you made the move! We love the Utah area and all the outdoor activities (we were at Deer Valley in March with extended family). Anyway, I am glad you are doing well!
Married Allan Anderson, CAS 82, in 1984. Received MHA from Washington University in 86 and returned to Chicago area. Have 3 great kids - Kathryn, 17, AJ, 15 and Peter, 12. Located to Northern Utah just over 2 years ago after living in Bolingbrook, Illinois for 14 years. Love small town living in God's beautiful mountains close to skiing and hiking. Took early retirement from healthcare administration to raise our family and am now struggling with what I want to be when I grow up and have an empty nest!
Kathryn is beginning the college search and we have been talking about what we valued in our education - and ultimately it has become our friendships. That Bill and Vicky Brander's children call us Aunt Amy and Uncle Allan, that Steph (Kramer) Ward and Greg meet us in Vegas for a weekend, that my kids learned to ski behind Jim and Karen D'Ambrisi's boat, that Mark Schneider is having my daughter and I over for dinner when we're in Philly, that Kurt Sauser and Kevin Ziffra came here to ski with their kids, etc. etc. - that is what I value most from my Northwestern education.

I am planning to have a very casual post-game "open house" at our home in Winnetka at 656 Sheridan Road. Please plan to come by if you can.

I met your brother at a General Counsel gathering in Chicago yesterday. I figured there couldn't be unrelated Zadeiks in the US. Small world.
