Thanks!! :) Did you know that in one of my pictures that was Kathy Douglas Edwards? I think you are friends with her and her husband Ricky. It was truly a fantastic time in D.C. Hope all is well with you and yours!
Ben, I haven't been to Oceanique, but I haven't been in the area in quite a while. If I get to Seattle, I'll definitely take you up on the offer of guidance! (I understand it's a fabulous restaurant town. I interned in Oregon, but we never got up that far, sadly.) Thanks for getting this going; it's interesting. Can you tell me if other years have done it, too? I've got several friends a year ahead and a year behind that I'd like to track down...
Thanks for setting up the "social network" -- I have been trying to figure out the electronic face book buzz (and seeing if Mark Zuckerberg likes older women who could help him spend his $)
Great Party last month.
Ben,
Excellent to see you also on the Friday evening. Fortunately, the game the next day went as planned, and now we are only 1 game away from "some bowl" elegebility. I even made it to Detroit to see the Cat's against the powerful EMU Eagles (me & 4999 other folks in a 70,000 seat stadium). Unfortunately other plans on the Homecoming weekend didn't come thru, so couldn't make the shin-dig. Thank you for all the efforts I know you made in putting things together.
Geez, Sargent was a lifetime ago, wasn't it? I do get to Seattle a lot. I have several clients/partners there. It would be fun to catch up. I'm at betsy@aha-writers.com if you want to try to match up schedules.
I am in construction and cover SW Asia. In terms of the NU campus here in Doha, I believe that it is supposed to open next year some time. they are sharing space with Texas A&M.
I am planning to have a very casual post-game "open house" at our home in Winnetka at 656 Sheridan Road. Please plan to come by if you can and tell any other mutual friends.
Laura,
It's been a busy 25 years, to be sure. And while I knew at the time it was a bit atypical to be getting married my senior year (April, 1982), it was only later that Lisa and I realized how unusual it was!
Looking forward to seeing you in Evanston in October!
Go 'Cats!
Hi, Ben!
Thanks for exrtending the hand of friendship. It's great to read about all the incredible experiences you've had since 1982. Congratulations on 25 years of marriage! That's a biggie.
I'm living in the Seattle area and my wife Lisa Wissner (WCAS '85) and I recently celebrated our 26th anniversary. Max is a freshman at NU (Class of 2012), Nate is in 9th grade and Lauren is in 7th grade. I'm Chairman of DreamBox Learning and a Director of TeachFirst. I spent 14 years at Microsoft, where I built the first three versions of Internet Explorer and worked on OS/2, MS-DOS, Windows, and the Java VM. I also had short stints at IBM and Amazon.com. I earned my MS CS in '85, and BS CS and BS AM in '82. I joined the NU Board of Trustees in 1998. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, walking, and photography.
